MISSION OF THE CENTER

The mission of the Foundational Center for Biblical Training is three fold Ė 1) to make uncompromising disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ according to His holy word, 2) to train and equip those disciples to walk in their calling as given by God, and 3) to train ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ to change this world for the glory of God.

A. DESCRIPTION

Study in this school involves a deep and careful examination of the word of God. Emphases are placed on development of understanding the word of God, applying the word to our lives, walking in right relationship with God and others, and to demonstrate to the world who God is and why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ.

B. ORGANIZATION

This is a teaching-discussion-exercise course in which topics are presented by the instructor in class, dialogue occurs, and students do out of class exercises (scripture memorization, study in the word, etc.), as well as required readings from other books that are in unity with Godís word.

C. COURSE OBJECTIVES

1. To introduce students to the use of biblical study resources.
2. To introduce students to various topics for growth in their Christian walk.
3. To provide students with opportunities to develop and practice their spiritual gifts.
4. To walk in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ by knowing Him better and acting on the word of God.

5. Additional readings (books will be read outside of class)

Students will be responsible for getting their own copy of Vines Expository Dictionary and Strongís Concordance. These resources can be shared among students to help reduce costs.

F. DIFFERENT TRACKS

There are two different tracks. One is Equipping/Training, where students will receive instruction and training in the word of God for personal growth, applying the word of God and understanding their spiritual gifts. The second is Ministry (4-fold, Youth, Missionary, Music), where students called into full time ministry will receive instruction and training to minister to the body of Christ in their calling. Ministry students will work towards the credentials of receiving a ministry license. A ministry student must be approved by the Directors before entering the ministry track. There will be additional costs set by the Directors for the ministry track.

G. SCHOOL CALENDAR AND ATTENDANCE

The school calendar will be in conjunction with Owasso Public Schools.

To maximize the studentís education and training, regular attendance is suggested. Ministry students will be expected to attend all classes unless approval has been given by directors.

H. TUITION AND PAYMENTS

Everyone will pay something for their biblical training and education.

It is the goal of this school to provide training that everyone can afford. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of every student to pray and hear the Lord as to what each student will pay on a monthly basis.

All monthly tuition payments are due on the 10th of each month.

As described under Different Tracks above, ministry students will pay additional costs.

I. SUGGESTIONS FOR SUCCESS

Following the Lord Jesus Christ cost us something. It will cost us our time, our money, and our desires; but it will be all worthwhile. We are not living to exist day to day, but looking into the heart of an eternal God who gave His only begotten Son that we might become like Him and live forever with Him. Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our salvation. 1 Corinthians 6:20 says, ďFor you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.Ē Not only should we glorify God in our bodies, but present all of ourselves to Him for His glory.

In 2 Samuel 24:18-25, David receives a word from the Lord through Gad to erect on altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. David went up according to the word. Araunah offers to give David the threshing floor in order to build an altar to the Lord. David declines. In verse 24, we see Davidís heart in this. However, the king said to Araunah, ďNo, but I will surely buy it from you for a price, for I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God which cost me nothing.Ē So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Thus the Lord was moved by entreaty for the land, and the plague was held back from Israel.
