Prayer and support for the persecuted in India
| In recent months, Christians in India have suffered severe persecution for their faith. Reports were received that thousands of Christian homes were burned down, many were brutally murdered and many are still living in remote hide outs, without the basics of food and clothing. In Orissa alone, there were 47 Christians burned to death, 122 Christian churches burned and destroyed, and 325 Christian homes burned and destroyed. Thousands of Christians were attacked and persecuted. They were forced to flee from their homes. When persecution came to the early church, many followers of Christ were dispersed to new regions. As a result, the gospel went out and the word of God increased. Therefore, many more people came to know Christ and became His disciples. So it will be in India. This persecution will lead to the furtherance of the gospel. What the devil means for harm, God will use for good and the kingdom of God will be increased. Because of their faith in Christ Jesus, these people have lost property and some even their lives. The desire of Foundation Stone Ministries is to come along side the ministry already in India to encourage those who are persecuted for their faith. Our immediate goal is to provide spiritual and physical resources for those displaced by persecution. In the long term, we are working with other ministries to plant churches (also to be used as safe shelters). To build a church in India that will hold up to 150 people, the cost is $3000. These churches also serve as safe shelters. All contributions made towards this ministry in India will go to the people of India. Click the images below to enlarge the pictures.
